Outreach Programs: Caring Dinner
About the Ministry:
Caring Dinner is a bi-monthly event held on the third Saturday of the month at 1:00 pm here at Ridgewood. The dinner is held free of charge to community seniors and needy persons who would like to partake in a great meal and enjoy each other's company. The meal itself is the responsibility of congregants here at Ridgewood. Different groups volunteer to take responsibility for each meal, planning the menu and cooking and serving the dinner to our guests. We usually serve about 150 people during these dinners and personally deliver meals to our shut-ins that can't make it to the dinner itself. All extra food is then taken to St. Herman's Homeless Shelter.
